How do you think true happiness is going to come your way?

And why, when, where, with what?

Many people think,

I’ll be happy whenI get the perfect job – marry the right person – own that new thing – take that holiday – check something off the bucket list – lose weight”.

But true happiness doesn’t work that way. Not at all.

For example why do so many millionaires end up in rehab?

How do you explain that empty feeling you get after purchasing the something you thought you couldn’t live without?

New clothes might make you feel good for a while but…

Holidays are great but when you come home you’re back to being unhappy again.

Material possessions don’t make you happy. Relationships don’t make you happy. Wealth doesn’t make you happy. Even experiences don’t make you truely happy.

True happiness comes from Inner Peace. Authentic happiness resides within you.

In a sense, it’s a choice. You CHOOSE to be happy.

Yes, you read that correctly. You choose to be happy.

Of course it’s easier said than done.

So how do you do it? Well, you can teach yourself to feel happy – a state of being where you are neither sad nor ecstatic, but your state of being is balanced and true to your inner self.

How?

One way to help find happiness is to practice the JUST FOR TODAY morning meditation.

Try this:

As you wake up and begin your day close your eyes and relax every muscle in your body. Take your time.

Then breathe in slowly. Fill your lungs and stomach. Now, breathe out slowly. Repeat this 10 times. Keep ALL your muscles relaxed.

Now in your mind repeat these 5 Just For Todays.

JUST FOR TODAY.. I WILL NOT WORRY.

JUST FOR TODAY… I WILL NOT BE ANGRY.

JUST FOR TODAY… I WILL BE GRATEFUL.

JUST FOR TODAY… I WILL DO MY WORK HONESTLY.

JUST FOR TODAY… I WILL BE KIND TO EVERY LIVING THING.

When you have finished the 5 Just For Todays start repeating “Thank you” silently, with a smile on your face, and allow a feeling of gratitude to fill your soul.

Keep going.

It’s a great way to silence the mind while at the same time making you feel great!

After your meditation write down 5 things you are grateful for… just for today.

Just 5.

It’s even more powerful when you express why you are grateful for them.

Just a one-liner will do.

If you do this consistently for a period of a few weeks, you will be astonished at how much happier you have become!

Peace & Tranquility.
