In today’s hectic and digitally driven society loneliness is becoming an ever increasing social problem.
More and more people are now finding little or no meaning in their lives and have lost the motivation to seek new friends and/or start new activities.
For many lonely folk out there, it seems impossible to find the stimulus within themselves to forget the past and move on to new things.
I guess that’s understandable when people have nothing to do other than to sit at home all alone silently dying of misery.
Ultimately this leads to anger and then deep and hopeless despair.
Loneliness can also cause high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, digestive problems, heart disease, sleep problems, and weight gain.
It is therefore hardly surprising over 40% of people who commit suicide have been living in extreme loneliness. This has only added to the difficulty of solving what has now become a world wide crisis.
Such is the severity of this growing crisis that several countries have even appointed government ministers to handle it.
However, there are no ministers or government decisions that will ever solve this problem.
Eradicate Loneliness from your Life
If a person allows it to loneliness can break through into a new phase. This may be a complete apathy toward everything.
On the other hand, this break through could prove to be the beginning of a process which leads to the discovery of a whole new life.
For some, the rising above loneliness and feelings of meaninglessness with a purposeful quest to discover a new life is the only solution left to them.
For those that try this quest can lead them to the discovery of new and true meanings to their lives.
After all, knowingly or unknowingly, this is ultimately what everybody wants to achieve.
Spirituality is the broad concept of a belief in something beyond the self.
Spirituality offers a worldview that suggests there is more to life than just what people experience on a sensory and physical level.
Instead, it suggests that there is something greater that connects all beings to each other and to the universe itself.
It also proposes that there is ongoing existence after death and strives to answer questions about the meaning of life, how people are connected to each other, truths about the universe, and other mysteries of human existence.
Spirituality has been a source of comfort and relief from loneliness, stress, depression, anxiety and unhappiness for multitudes of people.
While people use many different paths to find and to express their spirituality, research has shown that those who are more spiritual and use spirituality to cope with their challenges in life experience improvements in their physical health and mental well-being.
Signs of Spirituality
Spirituality is not a single path or belief system. There are many ways to experience spirituality and the benefits of a spiritual experience.
For some it may involve experiencing a sense of connection to a higher state or a sense of inter-connectedness with the rest of humanity and nature.
Signs of spirituality can include:
Asking deep questions about topics such as suffering and what happens after death
Deepening connections with other people
Experiencing compassion and empathy for others
Experiencing feelings of interconnectedness
Feelings of awe and wonder
Seeking happiness beyond material possessions or other external rewards
Seeking meaning and purpose
Wanting to make the world a better place
Not everyone experiences or expresses spirituality in the same way. Some may experience all of the above signs, others just a few.
It’s also true that some people may seek spiritual experiences in every aspect of their lives, while others may prefer to have these feelings under specific conditions or in certain locations.
For example, some people may have their spiritual experiences happen when they out enjoying nature. while others find their experiences happen whilst in a deep state of meditation.
Today there is a spiritual awakening happening all over the world and it’s happening for more and more people.
To find the answer that question one has to wonder if the reason for these growing feelings of loneliness in people is Mother Nature’s way of prodding us into seeking new and more purposeful meanings to our lives.
However, being able to rise above loneliness to follow a quest like this is only possible if people succeed in awakening themselves to it’s possibilities.
However, once people do agree to this transition, it is then that they become ready to begin a whole new life.
Otherwise, they can expect more and more prescription pills that will effectively put them to sleep for the rest of their lives – until they die.
By crossing this ‘frontier‘, people will ultimately discover that there is another life awaiting them, and they’ll start living it.
My advice to all the lonely people who are feeling alienated from this world – go seek the information you need for answering your questions about the meaning of life.
Leave the past behind. It’s gone – it’s over – what’s done is done. There’s no going back.
Drop those friends and family members who can’t be bothered to call you, send you a text, or pay you a visit. They no longer care about you – they never did. These people are in your past – leave them there.
There is nothing else that I can recommend.
From the bottom of my heart, there is no more I can say to you other than,
“It’s working for me.”
I leave you now with the Beatles classic – Elenor Rigby.
Peace and Tranquility.
